I have a 01 cbr 929 the rear brake is very solid and doesn't have much stopping power. When I press on the brake is feels very stiff and moves about 1/2". Fluid level is good. What should be my next step? Thanks in advance
Before you do that put a bar between the pads if you dont you will have a hell of a job to get them apart....best way if you have a G clamp take the pads out and leave about a inch gap from clamp and cylinder brake then wind back do over a few times till it runs free:thumb:see if the caliper is seized up.
Remove it,
push the brake lever
see if it moves.
as Rick said but make sure you clean the piston first as you can drag debris/rubbish back into the caliperBefore you do that put a bar between the pads if you dont you will have a hell of a job to get them apart....best way if you have a G clamp take the pads out and leave about a inch gap from clamp and cylinder brake then wind back do over a few times till it runs free:thumb:
