Hi guys,
So I'm a new here, just joined this forum (was introduced to it two days ago) and have a 01 CBR929-RR my Dad passed down to me. He got to old for the bulletbike life and passed it all down to me one day. What had happened was he left it covered outside in the cold, and it cracked the block. He took it in, had it examined at a local shop and was told it would cost more than the value of the bike to repair. So, he gave it to me, in pieces. I want to get it riding again, but I need to source the parts necessary, then go to a local shop near me and have it reassembled. Costing me alot less; just labor hopefully. If anyone knows where I could get a used bike or parts 929 block, or 954 even, if it'll fit. It would be alot of help. I'm currently tearing the rest of the crap motor out to have it all ready to take in. Once it's back 100% I'll start learning more about how it breaks down, but he gave me a mess to start off with. Will post pics of the bike soon. Thanks and much appreciation to anyone that can help me out.

Cant fix the block ?
Not that I know of. I'm going to check it out and give my assessment of it, but I'm mostly likely needing another motor. A used bike or a donor would be great, I just need pointed in the right direction of either. I would love to install it all too, but getting it running is different, will need a shop for that. But finding 2001's/929's is hard for some reason. Any help?

There's what I'd call a donor bike available near me and the guy calls it a 2000 but it's got a 96/97 tail, front shock, headlight and gauge cluster. Hard to say what it is though because the front plastics are gone so the rest may have been the cheapest he could find on eBay.
It's a 97. I was looking at that too.
