Rothmans Fairing install on an 05 1000

I bought these fairings from a ebay seller in HK. I have always been a big fan of this livery and it was really the reason I bought a cbr 1000 over something else. Overall paint quality is very good and I am pleased so far with the fit of the pieces. A way better fit that what I got with my Katana fairings. Here are some pics of the progress so far.

Very nice scheme for sure. I notice your bike is an 06 not an 05 as in the title. Let us know once you get some miles on it in terms of paint durability a heat resistance.

it actually is an 05. the previous owner had put the '06 bodywork on it. so that's why I went with '06 aftermarket bodywork

It came with some thick heat shielding on the lower cowling so hopefully it's enough to guard against the heat of the exhaust

I've considered newer body work for my 05. Can you possibly see what kinds of changes were made to fit 06 stuff? Mounting points etc. Sorry for getting off topic.
I would like to say these HK kits are **** but only have good reports from people who have them on a range of bikes!
Im thinking of getting the same kit for my 600RR!

Thanks for the compliments guys. I am almost finished, just need to grab a few fasteners from the motorcycle shop. I am really pleased with how it turned out.

Wow! Nice looking bro. Fittment looks great too. Which HK dealer did you use?

I bought them from a sell named stylechoose. Fit was very good, a lot better than some other plastic I bought before. I had to clean out a few holes of some flashing but thats about it to get them to fit. how they hold up will remain to be seen.

If they fit good from the beginning then odds are they will hold up well through time. It's the ones that need to be stretched and bent to fit that I worry about.

Get a high rez pic up.

Hey we should hit up for a ride sometime too.
sweet ride i have bought some hk fairings for my 954 still waiten for them its been a month lol i got them from auctmarts hope they look as good as yours

I finished it up today. Put the front fender on which took a bit of work. I had to drill out the rivets on the brake cable mounts and then re pop rivet them into the new fender. Made a trip to the motorcycle shop for some well nuts and aluminum hardware. Eventually I'll get some nice pics while on a ride.

:thumb: That really is the Muts Nuts....nice job.
small thing change the mirrors, they stand out when every thing else looks so good. but really nice.
Nice. All Rothmans should have white wheels. Are you painting yours?
Steve
I'm considering having the wheels powder coated in white or gold. all in good time though. I priced it out at around $300 to have the wheels done.
Would OP be kind enough to link us to the page of the seller? Couldn't find the seller by the name "stylechoose" selling fairings, although it turned up some other irrelevant results.
Lawson's had gold, Doohan was always white but Spencer went back and forth between black and white. Sounds like Plasti Dip time to see what you like!
