A friend of mine fragged a lifter on his 96 GSXR 750. We pulled the head off and it's scratched on the inside diameter of the channel in which the lifter moves up and down. We're trying to figure out if we can keep using the head or if it needs to be repaired or replaced. Anyone?

It depends on how bad the damage is.
Does a lifter still fit and slide up and down smoothly?
It should be possible to hone it I would think.

It's not too bad and I'm sure that we could smooth it out and a lifter would move up and down fine.
