I bought a pair of boots for riding. They provide a greater margin of protection than the runners I usually wear. The trouble is that they happen to have a safety toe cap which makes it very difficult to shift. After looking at the shift lever linkage, it appears as though there may be some adjustments possible- adjustments that will give me more clearance between the shift lever and the footpeg. Before I go and change my current settings, can anyone shed some light on this idea. Anyone run into this issue before?
Many thanks.

you can change the height on the lever but adjusting the effective length of the link rod. there are two nuts, loosen them both (one's left handed) and then twiddle the rod one way to raise the height, the other to lower. when your happy retighten the lock nuts
