Hey, I searched around for this but couldnt find a specific thread. I'm trying to take off the stock left rearset, including the shifter. I looked at how it connects to a toothed rod and my question is this, should i just mark the position its in on the rod and shifter part that connects so they'll line up in 'N' or is there something more complex to this? Thanks.

If you have a digital camera just take photos of it.
The end of the splined rod should already have a dot punched in the end of it which aligns with the split.

Yeah thats what Im thinking, pictures are great when piecing things back together, thanks. Also, I asked about the amps to the rectifier the other day, along those lines, I pained the subframe a flat black with several coats of primer underneath, should I sand the spot where the rectifier will attach in order to have a good ground connection?

The regulator is grounded through the harness so does not need to be attached to the frame.
The reason for attaching it to the frame is to augment the heat soak capacity of it.

Hmmm...I generally refer to myself as a dicker :)
I simply enjoy messing with mechanical things and making things myself.
I am a racer which is very handy in providing heaps of opportunity to dick with my bikes :)
I'm an avid reader as well but always try to test ideas out for myself before accepting them as fact simply because it's been stated as fact by somebody else :)
No bike is perfect (not even close) and if I see something on another bike that I like the idea of I'll happily adapt the idea to suit my current steed.
