It started the other day, the note of the engine changed ever so slightly. Still seems to have 90 to 100% of power on tap, starts and idles fine.

IF I ease the throttle on to bring rpms to around 3000, the bike seems to sputter ever so slightly, yet if you wack the throttle, hits 7000 like nothing. The sputter kind of reminds me when you have water in the fuel, or when a flooded engine fires up, just not nearly that extreme.

The bike also seems to be missing that 3000 rpm surge, but i think that could be because the bike isn't running quit as smooth as it has.

What are some symptoms of a -fuel presure regulator
- ingnition coil
- or even a valve out of adjustment
acting up????

The bike is stock.

Thanks for any insight into this little problem.

I ride every day, last filled up on friday last week and by monday it was starting to act up. I did buy gas from a large chain but it was in a small town, who knows how often they sell 91(highest grade) gas though??

I did wash the bike on sunday evening and only ran it for about a minute after her wash.

Thanks Dan

Even though it was in a small town, im sure the gas is fine. How old are the plugs? Is the stumble only at 3k? Do you still have the exhaust valve and flapper?

Yes i still have the exhaust and flapper valves, as for the plugs I don't know. Bought the bike at the end of the season last year, and put it on the road in march. About 2000km since then.

It is such a slight miss, probably must people wouldn't even notice it, but when it is yours, you notice...

im assuming both the flapper and valve are connected to the servo right? Have someone rev the bike to 3k and 8k while you take a close look at how the servo turns.

It might even be a simple as cleaning out carbon build up in the HTEV

I get around 175km in town riding and around,220 with half highway/city riding. I did mostly highway on this tank and went 155km on 10.0 litres. Not sure if that is kinda average or down right crappy milage???

Thanks Dan

The 175 and 220 are meaningless since we don't know what that is in litres.
The 15.5kpl is above average around town, but on the low side depending on what you mean by highway riding.
I'd say the fuel pressure regulator is probably fine.

As stated, if you have lowered gearing then your odometer is reading high.
