Installed the full Akro exhaust on my 03' 954. Naturally the pipes will smoke the first couple rides. Well......the first couple rides are a done deal. After a recent stop at a light. The bike had white smoke rolling out from under her skins. I got it home and upon closer inspection. The outer pipes are against the foam lining of the fairings. The plastics are very hot to the touch. Is this something I should be worried about? Over time will the heat from the pipes just carve out their resting place in the foam with no worries. Or will the bike just burst into flames when Im backing into a corner? My main concern is the heat generated on the lower fairings.

I had the same problem. GO down to your local automotive shop (Pep Boys, Kragen, Etc.) and get some high temperature tape or something very similar and stick it to your fairings. That solved my problem.
