Well here's you r cahnce guys and gals. Tune in on Tuesday to Greg's Garage and start by entering for Dude for Day 04. Good luck to all.....by the way they are sending the the winner and a guest to Laguna, and this year hey are giving away a 1000RR.

For starters you pay taxes on the ENTIRE prize package. When they gave away the Kawi last year the grand total was $14500.00 or so. The taxes you pay are 30%....just like winning the lotto. So it's gonna be even more this year since the bike they are giving away is almost $11k to start with.

No cash option :thumbd: . If there was I would have taken that for sure. Better yet they could have taken the bike away from the prize package and been just the trip and all the other stuff.

The gubment isn't gonna miss a chance to reach in your pocket. All such prizes, gameshow winnings, etc. are taxable. And they take their share up front. :crap:

Rumour has it that the dude for a day sold that shit and bought a 954... Not that I'd know but I bet the 636 is trashed by now anyway...

SPEED CHANNEL
“DUDE FOR A DAY” SWEEPSTAKES

OFFICIAL RULES


No Purchase Necessary to Enter or Win. The Speed Channel “Dude For A Day” Sweepstakes (the “Contest”) begins May 18, 2004 at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Time (“PT”) and ends on June 13, 2004 at 11:59 p.m. PT (the “Contest Period”). Contest is sponsored and hosted by The Speed Channel, Inc., 9711 Southern Pines Boulevard, Charlotte, North Carolina, USA 28273 (“Sponsor”).



1. ELIGIBILITY. Contest is open only to legal residents of the continental United States, Alaska, Hawaii, and Canada (except the Province of Quebec), who are of the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence at the time of entry. Employees, shareholders, officers, directors, agents, representatives of Sponsor, Fox Cable Networks Services, LLC, any of The News Corporation Limited entities, Interplay, or the promotion and advertising agencies of any aforementioned entity, and their immediate family members and those living in their household, and each person or entity connected with the production, administration or judging of the Contest, and each parent company, affiliate, subsidiary, agent and representative of any aforementioned entity are not eligible.



2. HOW TO ENTER. Only on-line entries permitted for U.S. residents. Canadian residents may enter on-line or by regular post. For the Weekly Contest: First, watch The Speed Channel any Tuesday from and including May 18, 2004 to and including June 8, 2004 (May 18 and 25, 2004 and June 1 and 8, 2004) (The “Watch Period”). Each Tuesday during the Watch Period, a password for the Contest will be broadcast during that night’s “Two Wheel Tuesday” programming. To enter the Weekly Contest, after obtaining the Tuesday password, log onto the Speed Channel Web site located at Uniform Resource Locator (“URL”) www.SpeedTV.com and navigate to the Contest Web page prior to the following Sunday at 11:59 pm PT (May 23 and 30, 2004 and June 6 and 13, 2004). Enter the correct password in the area indicated and fill in the on-line entry form, including your full name, complete address, including city, state or province and ZIP or postal code, area code and telephone number and e-mail address. Submit your completed on-line entry in accordance with the on-screen instructions during the Contest Period. To enter the Weekly Contest via regular mail, Canadian residents must submit the correct password, along with their full name, address, including city, state or province and ZIP or postal code, area code and telephone number, and may include an e-mail address, along with their age hand printed or typed on a 3½” x 5” index card, with proper postage affixed or pre-paid shipping to The Speed Channel “Dude For A Day” Sweepstakes, c/o Interplay, 1223 Wilshire Blvd., #408, Santa Monica, California 90403-5400 USA. Limit: One entry per person and per e-mail address per week. Entries for the Weekly Contest must be received by 11:59 p.m. PT on the Sunday immediately following the Tuesday broadcast of the password on The Speed Channel (May 23 and 30, 2004 and June 6 and 13, 2004, as applicable). All eligible Weekly Contest entries will be entered for a chance to win the Grand Prize. Each online entrant must be the rightful owner (or have authorized use) of the e-mail address identified in the entrant’s entry as of May 18, 2004. In the event of a dispute as to the identity of a winner, the winner will be deemed to be the person in whose name the e-mail account governing the e-mail address was opened. Entrants must provide all information requested to be eligible to win. Incomplete, unreadable, or unintelligible entries, in the sole discretion of Speed Channel, Inc., will be disqualified. Sponsor will not verify receipt of entries. All entries submitted become the sole property of Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned.



3. SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION OF CHOSEN ENTRANTS. Each entrant who enters the correct weekly password will be entered into the random drawing for that weekly prize. On approximately May 24 and 31, 2004 and June 7 and 14, 2004, the selected weekly chosen entrant will be selected by random drawing by a representative of Sponsor from among all eligible entries received for the previous week. The selected weekly chosen entrant will be notified by phone and/or e-mail on approximately May 24, May 31, June 7 or June 14, 2004, as applicable. The entrant chosen for the grand prize will be randomly selected from among all eligible weekly entries on approximately June 14, 2004. All selected weekly and grand prize entrants will be required to respond (as directed) to the phone and/or e-mail notification within 72 hours of attempted notification. The failure to respond timely to the notification may result in forfeiture of the prize and, in such case, Sponsor may randomly select an alternate chosen entrant from among the remaining eligible entries. Each selected entrant will also be sent an affidavit of eligibility / liability / publicity release (Release). Unless restricted by law, each selected entrant will be required to complete and return the Release within the time period specified therein. Selected entrants who are Canadian residents will be required to correctly answer a skill question prior to being awarded any prize. The prize may be forfeited and, in such case, an alternate selected entrant may be randomly selected from among the remaining eligible entries if a selected entrant: (i) cannot be reached; (ii) fails to obtain all signatures on the Release and to return the documents in a timely manner as required pursuant to these Official Rules; (iii) cannot accept or receive the prize for any reason; or (iv) if a Canadian resident, fails to correctly answer the required skill question.



4. PRIZES. GRAND PRIZE: One (1) randomly selected entrant will receive a Grand Prize package including one (1) Speed Channel paint or decal-customized Honda motorcycle (model of Sponsor’s choice) and a trip for two (2) to Monterey, California to attend the AMA and FIM Superbike Weekend at Laguna Seca Raceway on July 9, 10 and 11, 2004. Grand Prize trip package includes: two (2) roundtrip coach airfare tickets from the major commercial airport nearest the Winner’s primary residence to a major commercial airport near Monterey, California; 4 night/5 day stay in standard double occupancy hotel accommodations in or near Monterey, California; admission for two (2) to the Laguna Seca Raceway on July 9, 10 and 11, 2004; ground transportation in Monterey, California; and a Speed Channel/Honda welcome package. Companion must travel with selected entrant together on the same itinerary and, if companion is a minor, must obtain permission from a parent or guardian prior to travel. All costs and expenses not specifically listed herein are the sole responsibility of the Grand Prize winner including, without limitation, food, beverage, transportation not otherwise specified herein, vehicle license and/or registration fees, if any, inspection and/or delivery costs, and, if the winner is a Canadian resident, import and/or customs duties and any Canadian vehicle modification requirements. The trip must take place on July 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12, 2004 (extensions will not be granted). Certain travel restrictions / requirements set forth by regulatory agencies and/or transportation carriers may apply. Approximate retail value (“ARV”) of Grand Prize package is Seventeen-Thousand-Four U.S. Dollars (US$17,004.00). WEEKLY PRIZES: Four (4) total weekly selected entrants will each receive one (1) Honda/Speed Channel Leather Jacket, ARV of Four Hundred-Five U.S. Dollars (US$405.00) each. ARV of all prizes is Eighteen-Thousand-Six-Hundred-Twenty-Four U.S. Dollars (US$18,624.00). Selected entrants cannot assign or transfer their prize to another person. No prize substitution is allowed except at the discretion of Sponsor. If prize cannot be awarded due to circumstances beyond the control of Sponsor, a substitute prize of equal or greater retail value may be awarded. All prizes will be awarded.



5. ODDS. The odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries.



6. CONDITIONS. Contest is subject to these Official Rules. By participating, entrants agree: (i) to be bound by these complete Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor which shall be final and binding; and (ii) to waive any right to claim ambiguity in the Contest or these Official Rules, except where prohibited by law. By accepting a prize, winner agrees to release Sponsor, Fox Cable Networks Services, LLC, The News Corporation Limited, Interplay (including the parent, subsidiary and affiliated entities of each) together with the respective directors, employees, officers, licensees, licensors and agents of each, including without limitation, their respective advertising and promotion entities and any person or entity associated with the production, judging, or administration of the Contest, (collectively, the Releasees) from any and all liability, loss or damage arising from or in connection with awarding, receipt and/or use or misuse of prize or participation in any prize-related activities. Sponsor reserves the right to use the Contest for publicity purposes in any media, and to use the name, likeness, and hometown name and/or prize information of selected entrants as part of that publicity, without any compensation or prior review unless prohibited by law. Any such use with respect to minors shall be subject to prior approval of parent or legal guardian. Taxes, if any, are the sole responsibility of selected entrants, and selected entrants who are U.S. residents may be issued an IRS Form 1099 for the ARV of any awarded prize. This Contest is void in the Province of Quebec, outside the continental US, Alaska, Hawaii, and Canada, and where prohibited or restricted by law, and subject to applicable federal, state provincial and local laws. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entrant it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or violating these Official Rules. The Releasees shall not be liable for: (i) late, lost, delayed, stolen, misdirected, postage-due, incomplete unreadable, inaccurate, garbled or unintelligible entries, communications or affidavits, regardless of the method of transmission; (ii) telephone system, telephone or computer hardware, software or other technical or computer malfunctions, lost connections, disconnections, delays or transmission errors; (iii) data corruption, theft, destruction, unauthorized access to or alteration of entry or other materials; (iv) any injuries, losses or damages of any kind caused by the prize or resulting from acceptance, possession or use of a prize, or from participation in the Contest; or (v) any printing, typographical, administrative or technological errors in any materials associated with the Contest. Sponsor disclaims any liability for damage to any computer system resulting from participating in, or accessing or downloading information in connection with this Contest, and reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to cancel, modify or suspend the Contest should a virus, bug, computer problem, unauthorized intervention or other causes beyond Sponsor’s control, corrupt the administration, security or proper play of the Contest. Sponsor may prohibit an entrant from participating in the Contest or winning prize if, in its sole discretion, it determines such entrant is attempting to undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest by cheating, hacking, deception, or any other unfair playing practices of intending to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other players or Sponsor representatives. Disputes regarding these Official Rules and/or this Contest will be governed by the internal laws of the State of California. Any and all legal actions or claims arising in connection with this Contest must be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction within the United States. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE THE WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST MAY BE IN VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION FROM PARTICIPATION IN THE CONTEST. SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSORS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO SEEK REMEDIES AND DAMAGES (INCLUDING ATTORNEY FEES) TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW, INCLUDING CRIMINAL PROSECUTION.



7. PRIVACY. All personal information collected by Sponsor will be used for administration of the Contest only. Any questions regarding privacy matters should be directed to the address set out below. Please refer to Sponsor’s privacy policy located at URL www.SpeedTV.com for important information regarding the collection, use and disclosure of personal information by Sponsor.



8. OFFICIAL RULES. 9. WINNERS LIST. So going by this years price tag...you are gonna be shelling out $5587.00 in taxes. Ouchy, even more then I had to fork out.

...but not a bad deal IF you're in the market for a 1000RR. Was the special paint on the 636 acceptable? Or did it look lilke a billboard?
