Well it was a record sale. Printed in the Cycle Trader on Thursday, got a phone call Thurs. afternoon. Guy came out Thurs evening to check everything out. I was upfront and honest about everything and he seemed to appreciate it. Bike was immaculate so it pretty much sold itself. He called back today to say he'll take it and came out with the ca$h$. Basically sold and paid for within 48 hours. I was really surprised as I anticipated alot of tire kickers and a 2-3 week wait before I'd finally sell it. He didn't want the stock exhaust that I had laying around but I insisted he take it, after he looked it over and saw that it was basically new he agreed. He was a nice guy so I gave him a good price and the pipe.

It was a bummer to watch it drive off. I always get that sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach whenever I sell a bike. Even if I have a new one in the garage to take it's place. But it just couldn't stay, wife's orders "it must go". Yup, it was nice playing the role of rich guy for a while and having a stable...

It's a beautiful bike, hope he enjoys it and treats it well. I still can't believe it was sold that fast, just got lucky I guess......

how much did u sell it for? I loved my 929.
2000 929 w/ 16k miles, sold it for $5500. I think it was fair all around. Had Eurobikes color matched (white) undertail. Leo Vince Carbon half-sys and Watsen LED signals. Of course I washed it really well and that made it that much harder to part with. Needed a new rear tire and chain but that's about it. Had the forks repaired completely (finally). I don't know what it is, but that bike felt so much lighter than my current GSXR. They handle the same (great) w/ the G1k handling just a touch better and obviously more power. But that 929 was so much fun to ride. :(

This is why I have decided to keep each bike when I decide to buy a new one. The wife will either agree or hit the door. If the garage gets to small then I build on to it. I am dedicated to not getting rid of my bikes from now on. Hopefully this will last.

Least you have your new poser machine....:)

Yup, I'm in collection mode myself!!! Only have 2 so far...

I purchased the 929 used from a friend, if I had gotten it from day 1, brand new then I would probably be keeping it. Said it before but I'd still be riding the carbed r1 if I didn't throw it down the street. It's a little easier (for me) to move a 2nd hand machine, though this one wasn't so easy to get rid of. It's been one night and I still miss the damn thing..

wow i sold mine for $5500 with 16k on it. Mine was in great shap too except for the fact i had some electrical issues which i had repaired by a great mechanic but that still didnt sit too well with me so selling it was the best option. This bike was part of the motivation for the divorce so it meant alot to me :)

I have a ton of miles on mine, and really should be considering another bike, but can't come up with a suitable replacement. I get a queasy feeling whenever I consider the thought of selling it.

hello all,
I just got my loan for a 2000 929 red/white with 14k (clean). hindle, scotts, double bubble etc. all for 5300. I too plan on keeping most of the bikes I buy. the 929 will be my third horse in the stable- 03 ktm 450 sx, 00 sv 650, and now the 929.
I read about the soft font end on the suspension thread and didnt believe it was that bad untill i rode it- holy shit, DK please take my money.

I would say offhand that you did fairly well considering I sold my 2000 929 with under 2500 miles and approximately 10K worth of extras 2 years ago for 7000.00. The stock bodywork, pipe, tires etc were never used as the bike was stripped before it was ever started. To say it was in perfect shape was an understatement.

Count your blessings . . .

I just listed my 02 954 on cycle trader. Its pretty much stock except a tank bra and frame sliders. It has 4600 miles but was bought new in april of 2004 so its just a year old. It also has the honda 2 year extended warranty. I listed it for $6500 firm. All it needs is a rear tire shortly. Does that sound fair?

$5800, delivered (local)

I'll get it Monday...CANNOT WAIT!

I sold my '92 CBR600 about a year ago...I hope not to sell the bikes anymore...
