I hope the residents were smart enough to grab some fish before they all died.

Hey, I used to work with this lady!!

"This is just freaky," said Donna Ripp of Chesterfield. "It's just sad. You buy your house out on a lake like this, and look what happens."

Edit...

Eric Ripp of Chesterfield stood with his wife, Donna, at the northern edge of the lake Thursday afternoon. Ripp said he was amazed by the sight

Yup, that's definitely them. They were building that house when we worked together...7 years ago. Small world.

“That lake was 23 acres -- no small lake.

In the South, we'd refer to that as a pond.

I know, but "pond-front" property doesn't seem to have the same appeal to home-buyers. Around here, they dig a 10ft hole, pour in some water, and then charge you an additional $5k for the property. I had an apartment complex try to charge me $15/month more for lake-front property, when the "lake" wasn't even 12ft across where my unit was. Creek-front was more like it.

You want to talk about lakes? Here in Michigan we'd call that a puddle!

What a coincidence. The property I'm in the process of zoning and developing is almost exactly 23 acres.
If that's even considered a lake - big or small, that's kinda sad.
