I went down a tooth on the front of my 954, i'm really happy with it. However, I want to go back to the stock 16t and go to a 45 in the rear. I am trying to get a happy medium between the 15/43 and 16/43 by trying 16/45. I know most of you are saying 'what has Tank been smoking?', nothing lately, but I want to find out if I can feel or notice a difference. Problem is, seems that NOBODY has a steel 45 tooth rear sprocket for the 954. I've been checking on the net and even talked to the guy at DMT where I ordered my tires and all he had was an $80 aluminum deal. I don't mind spending $30 to $40 to test this, but $80 isn't feasible.

Anyone know where I can get one? Would anyone on the board happen to have one that is in decent shape that I could try out? I don't mind footing the bill for shipping. I don't really plan on doing the 520 conversion anytime soon either, that's another reason I don't want to fork out big $$ for an aluminum sprocket.

Thanks!
Tank

AFAM only goes up to 43 in steel.....and only in 530....

Edit:
Just for grins....the difference between 15/43 and 16/45 is only 2%......not enough difference to pop the $$ for imho....ymmv.

You're right Bake, that's my opinion for not getting the $80 sprocket. If I found a cheap steel one, I'd probably try it just for the hell of it. I'm looking more for 'feel' than true gain/loss behind it.

I got a steel 46t form Sprocket Specialists for a 530 chain. It will fit with the stock chain on your bike. Thats the setup I am running on my 954. !6T in front and 45T in rear. I hope this help you out alittle.
