Ok, here's the deal. I bought an 01 929 last fall. It needed some body work, so I didn't even ride it on the road yet. I fixed it over the winter, pulled it out to take it for a spin today and all seemed well, it started right up and ran fine. I then shut it off, only to try and fire it up again a few hrs later with no results (just turns over).

There's a few things I've notice when I go to start it

1) I don't hear the fuel pump and
2)the turn sigs don't work.

However, a few min later it fired right up. I let it idle for about 8min, then it just died. Temp was 215 (if it matters) and once again it would start and the same thing 1+2.

What the heck is going on with this thing?

I'd really appreciate any help or suggestions. Thanks.

I'm posting this just incase someone else has the same problem in the future.

I found the problem and it was the ground wire that goes on the bottom of the fuel pump. I haven't figured out where the heck it goes exactly and tracked down the root of the prob., but for now I just ran a different ground and it starts/runs great.
