Hello! I have an 01 929 with 20k miles on the clock. bike was ridden by a 150lb rider its entire life. never abused or tracked. basically mostly ran in the 4-7k rpm range. its a CHERRY. previous owner was my 65 year old father.

ok im 240lbs and i typically have my gf who is 110lbs on the back. here is what im considering.

Front:
race tech springs installed in the forks (forks have never had their oil changed so this needs to be done anyway)

Rear:
considering a penske rear aftermarket shock/spring. i have read great things about it and most i have talked to say its a night and day difference esp since i will be ording it set up for my specific weight.

I just need to part with the cash for the rear work. thats obviously the most expensive part. but what do you all think of this option? good idea? the bike is only on the street NO TRACK. but like i said i think the current set up needs at least some maintence but also i feel like its just too soft for my weight.... then add rider and its SOFT....

any better suggestions?

PS
The bike is a keeper so i dont mind spending the money to have it set up correctly. i know its old... but its staying with me because of the history behind it and plus its a nice bike anyone would love to own if you ask me. not many left around my area if any.
