Guys

Newbie to the site, but am an older wrench.

Can someone please clue me in on swingarm stands. My 93 CBR900RR has no holes for a spool, but it seems the way to go.

Do i "drill" or do i use the "adapters or universal" fit thingies.

My new used bike has many issues including a loose chain, and wo/ a center stand (is there a retrofit one of these?) i believe i need to invest.

Swingarm sliders, axle spools, etc.

I am so confused.

Someone please point me in the right direction.....

( i will post later on where to find those cool amber round old-school headlights)

Hi Windman
I use a PITBUL stand with the adapters they sell to compensate for the 900 series swingarm, didnt want to drill inot my swingarm so this has worked for a long time very well.
I have seen templates for drilling the swingarm so that you can use race day stands with bobbins, spools or other means of engagement.
Recently I have seen adapters that i believe are called Spool SLiders, these seem to fit under the rear axle bolt ends and have. I saw these in magazines. Try Supermoto Engineering – Sportbike and Supermoto Kits, Grips and Parts for those. Problem is with this set up it looks like you cant remove the rear wheel, so sort of uselesss for anything other than chain adj.
O well, hoope that helps.

Thanks Rudyrov.

I will follow your advice.

Seems i have the rear wheels off about every 6 mo or so.

If you say the adaper thing works okay, i'll give it a shot.

Do you have the one with the set wheels or the spinners. The spinner wheels look practical as sometimes it is nice to slide the bike to the side for a while.

Hi Windman
No problem, my pleasure.
I have the one with the 4 inch hard plastic wheels.
I do roll the buike around with this stand, but only forward and back.
It is quite handy, I really want to get the front stand too but they are very proud of them.
