I bought a full hindle system and couldn't find any guide on how to install it.
I recently got a digicam so I figured why not document the whole thing. I kinda went overboard and ended up spending 10 hours on it. Here's my site:
http://crotchrocket.net

It's called the non-mechanic's guide because I didn't really know what I was doing, but it all worked out fine.

Feel free to correct anything, I plan on adding a lot more.

It's running on a cable modem, and has tons of images, so it might slow to a crawl or get me kicked off Comcast :D

You guys overloaded it pretty quick :D

The girl in the pics is my girlfriend, I was taking the pictures so I'm not in any of them.

Yep, the vfr is mine. I practice new skills on it because I'm afraid to hurt my 'blade. Neither has collision insurance, and the vfr's a lot cheaper to fix.

Conq, go ahead and add them. I was going to submit to KB but I didn't feel like censoring it.

The site's back up now.

Great install guide for someone who has never done this before. If you have, expect to spend around 2 hours most of which is involved only in changing out the exhaust and none of the other work that was included (flapper/oil & filter change etc.).

Most people just pull the cables and leave all of the servo stuff intact. I like the fact that you sealed the cable holes, although the breather for the crankcase and the pair system negate any possibility of a "sealed" airbox.

Well done . . . :thumb: :thumb:

On the Throttle Free Play adjustment, why did you remove the tank/etc? You couldn't get the free play out by using the adjustments at the clip-on?
I had the tank open already and thought, "Hey, I can adjust the throttle this way". I didn't know the clip-ons had an adjustment. I'll have to check it out.

You're right, Conq, I hadn't noticed that before. I had a lot of free play, though, I'm not sure that would have been able to do it. Would be a hell of a lot easier. I'll have to add that to the page.

Nice job. :thumb: That looks like a lot of work putting that stuff together.

I found one nit to pick...you've drawn the fuel filter into a couple pics but in reality it is inside the tank. No biggie, but it might mislead someone.

I saw something I thought was the fuel filter, right next to the airbox. It did seem awfully small, I'm not sure what it was then. I'll fix that.

So how do you get to the filter if it is inside the (metal) tank?

You remove the whole fuelpump assembly with filter from the bottom of the tank.

Nice site by the way! :thumb:

Hey Conq, I have a KB on removing the front wheel off 929 (maybe the rear as well) if you need it.
