there's nothing like a custom paint job to say, "i crashed my bike"
Yeah that kinda ran through my head too...but damn, 5k buy it now low miles and clean. Thats 250.00 less than you can get one on this site without fairings and a title. (sorry had to say it) Bike does look nice though. Expensive and tastefull pipe.

You guys are paranoid, I paint every single bike I buy, new or used.

Why do I want to have the same bike that about 20 other penis touchers own in my neighborhood?

You can tell if they are lieing by looking for not so obvious frame scratching and or scarring.

Besides, that whole story where bikes that get dropped are mysteriously bent and never ride straight again are from the old days of steel tube frames (ancient ninjas and katanas) and between the insurance companies and the good majority of monkeys pretending to straighten out frames made it a bad thing.

Todays frames take a lot to bend and if they do, youll see it.

I say its a great bike (while I dont like the paint myself) for a decent price.

hahahaa..........

whats really scary is I have an 03 636 that I just picked up. Im already in the process of painting it a different tone of "everyone wants gixxer blue bikes" than the original blue on it.

With a myriad of really cool stuff as well, like a turbo, singled sided swingarm and some other goodies.

I don't see anything wrong with painting a bike either....first one I painted was a used bike because it had some scratches in the plastics from the previous owner...and because I wanted a project to occupy my time. Since then, I've painted a lot of bikes. My 954 doesn't have any scratches or gouges in the plastics or anything like that, and I'm looking to do a white paint scheme on it this summer.

Ive got scratches on mine from just being in a tight garage. Im thinking of replacing the rear with a cheetah solo, and then repaint...Might even get another tank and modify it to have some cleaner lines. So if I do that, is everyone gonna think I wadded my bike?

Is that what everyone really thinks when they see a nice full pipe? "That guy wadded his bike so he bought a full pipe." Riiiiight

Motorcycles are individual expression. I appreciate the school of thought of keeping it looking stock. I have done that a few times myself. However making the bike look individual but nice (well hopefully nice) should be appreciated as much as a PCIII and a full pipe.
