Hell no. 80 is typicaly a "D" range truck tire like on big pickups/dulies. Most full size trailer tires are P or LT rated, usualy good to around 50 psi. But it should be printed on the tire sidewall.

...it depends on ply rating and load carrying ranges. 12 inchers can be pretty high if they're 6 ply tires.

use whatever the MFG'er says to use. failure with anyother PSI is your fault, in their eyes. :idunno:

Sorry forgot to include that the sidewall states max pressure to be 80PSI cold. Seemed a little high to me? :idunno:

the larger the tire, the more room it has for expansion and load absorption.

take a 12" tire that generally has 400-500 lbs load carrying capabilities and you ain't gonna compress it much before.....POP! Hence, the 6 ply construction, and higher PSI's.

:crying: the down side is that they're quicker to fail, due to heat, over loading and higher speeds. they're good for what they are, but it's really easy to abuse them, or "outgrow" a trailer with them without much effort. when they fail, it's for keeps too..... :evilaugh:

i'd much rather have 15", 6 plys for numerous reasons. i live in PA ans we're in the running for the "Pothole Capital" of the country. one pothole with a 12" trailer tire and your beat.......... :mad:
