[Two Hoots]

On one of my fork tubes (the bottom tube) I've got scratches and pitting which is letting the oil leak. I've seen new chrome fork legs that you can buy - cheaper than getting the old one re-chromed, and was wondering how the tube separates from the wheel mount at the bottom? I've changed the seals in the forks before but never tried to take the bottom off, is this possible on upside down forks?

Bike is CBR 929 2001.

Any advice much appreciated!

Thanks. I've looked through the Haynes manual but it doesn't say specifically that the two can be separated. Parts fiche show it as one unit. but if it didn't come apart why sell the tubes separately? i think i'll give the place a ring and ask how they would do it.

Apparently they do come apart, they unscrew but are very tight, glued and pinned. So I'm sending it off to be done ;o) Thanks for the advice.
