Man, my Dad isn't going to like that. :(

I'm impressed by Merck's actions on this one.

From the article: The news should benefit rival Pfizer, which produces the market-leading Celebrex arthritis drug and its successor named Bextra.

Since I'd guess the drugs work through similar mechanisms, I wonder if this is wrong, and they just haven't studied Celebrex/Bextra enough to discover the HA risk factor?

FWIW, I think this is the tip of the iceberg....from what I have been reading, there is going to be a pharma "bubble" similar in size and scope as Enron et al..... :crap:

Hmmm, at least I've only been taking it for about 16 months, I should be safe from strokes and grabbers :idunno: . Too bad too, the stuff works(ed) wonders on my shoulder.

Better life through chemistry, just not as long :eyebrows:

They are all COX II inhibitors... and no Bextra and Celebrex have NOT had the same vigorous study that Vioxx has had...

And that was the BEST drug for a hangover... :crying:
