So I picked up a Sedici#16 riding jacket for $130, and on the commute in this morning of course it rained on me.. anyone recommend a good waterproof/ sealant? thanks!

Any waterproof treatment should be good. I like Nikwax. Nothing will make it completely waterproof short of urethane coating. That's what rain gear is for.

So is $160 a good price or something :huh:?

You're going to laugh at this, but it's true.
When I was a young kid, we lived in a very remote part of NW Montana, running a cattle ranch. Around 1970. In the late fall we would hunt deer, elk, and on occasion, a bear. The forest service would allow about 10 bears per year to be hunted in our county. Population control. The one year my step dad got a bear, we used the fat - tallow - as leather conditioner and water repellant on our work boots.
It worked really good, would hold up for about a week of sloshing around in the mud and snow, then you'd reapply the tallow. It helped preserve the stitching too.
I don't know were you'd get bear tallow now :rotfl:

I just thought that was kind of cool. :cool:
