I have a ticking sound at lower RPM's. (Kinda like when a leaf used to get stuck in the A/C fan on an older car) Bike runs fine. It has been there for a while and is just now starting to get a little worse. At any speed you cannot hear it over the wind noise. :idunno:

The only thinkg I can guess is the CCT starting to go? But I haven't heard of any 1000RR CCT problems.

I had mine done under warranty, but it still ticks around 3000-3500 RPM :idunno: I really don't feel like having it done again, but I may have to...

Heeyyyy looks like we're the black and silver 1000rr club...I think I'm the only one that bought black and silver in California....(red as far as the eye can see)

It sounds like tick...tick.......tick........tick....tick...tick...tick..tick.tickticktickticktickticktickticktickticktickticktifktaicktaickgfickitck......ta---tickticktickt--tatickktick...

have the stealer look at it...they'll usually replace it if it's bad or not, under warranty as they know they'll get paid (at least here in Cali).

You guys sure it's not fuel injector noise?? I went to the trouble of tracking mine down on the dyno :metoo:when I noticed it. At 2500-3500 depending on temp of engine, water...etc it moved a bit up or down. It was main injectors and not cam chain as far as my ear, assisted with a metal bar and stethescope, could tell. I've heard the cam chains are pretty good on the 1000RR's.

Stock exhaust. 10, 200 miles.

It has a normal tick when cold, it seems this goes away as soon as the oil get to the top end. This is more like the leaf thing, at about the same RPM range as Northeren RR is describing.

Prolly would't hurt to get it looked at if the bike is still under warranty...if not I have heard that two brothers does a manual tensioner, may be worth looking into?
