I could, aye. I don't because all the roads round here are covered in salt now, been gritted twice this week. I've ruined bikes riding through the winter and I like this one too much much to inflict the same salt carnage. yes I could power wash it every couple of nights when I get home in the dark but there isn't the pleasure in it for me for the sake of a 8 mile commute, the motor barely warms up either in that distance. I would be riding for the sake of riding, not because of the enjoyment of riding. On top of that 3 days the misses has to go to work and she cant get on the bike (bad hip probs). Not Siberia either, but was only +1 today when I went to work. So its roll on spring for me.

Mot done with no advisories, although last year it was too noisy!! Forgot to tax (UK VED) it and remembered as I was leaving the house so did that online. Total blast there and back (75 mile round trip coz I like & trust the MOT place in Southampton), had a right laugh! Total bike addiction.

oil and filter changed.
954 injectors fitter and ready to go to the dyno to see if they made any difference. by the seat of my pant I say yes, but the dyno will tell. II have a 'before' graph done a few weeks ago so its not an unfair comparison i think. will post result in the near future, but can't get on the dyno til 22 June! Full booked up at the moment!

Got back from France and found my RR is fried, no charge going to the battery but continuity test of the stator shows it's ok, and the battery holds a good charge. I was lucky it didn't completely fail whilst I was out there, unless the battery was just holding a good enough charge to last the last bit of the holiday. It's always on the Optimate at home but I had left it off charge for a day but had run the bike to work and back (only 15 mins each way, 10 on a good day! :D ) and flattened the battery to the point it would not start!

I guess the fact the RR runs burning hot to start with, and the air temp was 39c a lot of the time in France, meant it may have got a bit too hot! have a 2nd hand one on the way as a temp fix. need to look in to finding a good replacement as this is a known weak spot of most Hondas, still the original one has lasted 18 years so maybe I should not complain too much! :D

Well, tested the voltage from the stator with it disconnected and engine running. 16v from two poles, 1.8 from the 3rd, so the stator is shot. Replaced it, and approx 20v at idle rising with revs, but still only just charging. Seemed both the stator and RR were fried, I guess the RR fault overloaded the stator and burnt it out. I'd got a 2nd hand RR off ebay but had to swap the plug over. Any how its seems to be all ok now. Just goes to show that the bench continuity tests don't always show a fault that you get with a component when its under load.

Nigel, I struggled with the 929 especially as the swinging arm isn’t the same height each side so I got a spacer under one side to level it up on my paddock stand.

I’m always nervous getting bikes on/off the stand but touch wood I’ve not dropped one yet.

All Wiltshire recycling has been shut for weeks.

oddly it is 50 miles to the nearest pharmacy when I go by bike!! 🤣

I’m not meeting or interact with anybody by going for a ride so can’t see the harm, it not like going for a ride with your mates, going to a bike meet or to a pub. Just one man and machinery in perfect harmony (to pinch a well known advertising slogan!!)
