I'm pretty sure the "-000" numbering is for the 2001-2002 929's and the "-750" is for the 954's. Can't tell you what the difference is between the two shifters, though.

it could be a superceeding part # also.
the letters in the middile of the 10 digit honda part #'s usually dictate bike models but sometimes they obviously use the same part #'s on different models. if you are really curious get ahold of a honda vehicle ident. guide (the book with pics of every honda ever made- for the most part) in the front or back it tells what each part of the part number means. usually they have this book behind the parts counter for the idiots who only know what color their three wheeler is and can only comprehend with pictures.
