Morning Blade lovers,
ISSUE: under hard acceleration over 8K bars start to shake in all gears
I have been trying to solve this issue since last summer. I finally had a guy come over look at the bike. hes been track racing bikes over 30 years. he is also a suspension guru. he examined the bike, he noticed that my vortex clip-ons were installed backwards, left one was on right side. Im talking about the bar mount that slides in the fork tube. so my bars were pointing up, instead of down. so he thought this was issue since under hard accell all weight is in back and also bars were forcing me to pull up. so we switched bars, re torqued everything, checked stem bearing, everything looks good. put all back together including the Scotts steering damper. went on freeway, same thing.
Next he look at my tires I have the Bridgstone BT16. he said im pretty sure its the tire, change your tires, those are cheap group B tire. So now I am trying to find new tires. He recommend Michelin Pilot Power 3, or the Dunlop Q3.
Before I go spend $300 bucks on tires plus install I wanted ask if there is anything else that might be going on w the bike that we missed?

Usually the front goes light because the back is too soft. Tyres or suspension..

What do you weigh. I weigh 168lbs (14st in England) and I'm 6'2". When i bought my SRAD everybody told me to get a steering damper because they are prone to tank slappers. I bought one and hated it, run without one. Everybody told me when I got my Blade the same thing. It had one, took the damned thing off.

Run the back hard, get up on the tank and behind the bubble under acceleration. If your head and body is out of the bubble its going to lighten the front of the bike, especially if you are a big guy.

If your guy has been racing for 30 years but not winning for 30 years, maybe he's the wrong person to ask. My son had had every kind of sports bike for the last 30 years and has never once adjusted the suspension from standard.

I'm not the fastest or the best. All opinions are equally valid......

If all you did was change the tires, chances are when you re-installed the front wheel you got front end in a bind.

1. loosen the axel and pinch bolts on the forks.
2. tighten up the axel nut.
3. tighten up the pinch bolts on the side opposite from where the axel is inserted from.
4. pull the front brake and bounce the front forks up and down several times.
5. tighten up the other pinch bolts.

This should fix the problem if the front wheel was all that was removed and re-installed.

Im 6'2 220 we also setup the front and rear suspension for my weight. Sag and all. Under full acceleration im in full tuk in bubble.
Tge bike does not vibrate front wobbles only under hard acceleration

Im 6'2 220 pounds. The bike don't vibrate only front wobbles under hard acceleration.during acceleration im in full tuk under the bubble. We also torqued front wheel axle bolt to spec 73 foot pounds. He also setup rear front suspension for my weight

Hi again

Is the front wheel true and is the tyre properly fitted?

Are the wheel bearings good? Get the bike up on a front stand and check those things out.

Have you tried the front wheel installation Mr. 305 suggested? That's the correct way to install the front wheel.

Yes, i have the service manual and fallowed step by step. What else could it be .my friend says maybe a bent fork but he higly doubt that

Im sorry i think mr.305 misunderstand. I never changed wheels i said why is it wobble, i dont want change front wheel for no reason. The bike has BT16 bridgestone tires w 90 percent treat left on em, i have never removed front wheel,only re torqued everything to spec.

Pull the front wheel off and reinstall as Mr305 outlined.

It sounds like you've done everything humanly possible to rectify this problem except change the tire. The tire could be bad, messed up internally (not something seen by the naked eye or felt until spun at very high speed). However you always say it happens on the upshift during hard acceleration. With you're gigantor (big boy) size, is it possibly you're creating the wobble every time you shift by pulling on the bars while the front tire is just barely kissing the pavement? Wether it's pullig the clutch to shift or blipping the throttle to match? I would imagine even with a damper if you're hard to one side or the other on the bar it could create a wobble while hard on the gas, even with a damper.

I can't remember from your other threads but has this particular bike always done this since you've owned it?

Ya i blimp throttle while up shifting, and im not pulling on bars i tried it w just barely holding on. And yes its been doing it since i pretty much got bike, i did a test ride before purchasing it but i did not get on it.

Well, at this point you have nothing to lose, so like stated above, I'd suggest loosening the pinch bolts and axle, and retighten them in the order described by mr305. This should eliminate the possibility of fork-leg bindage.
(is bindage a word, or did I just make that up? :D )
