Sorry to be "that guy", but I just have to ask. I've spent a few hours over the past week or so researching this, and have read probably 100 threads on this topic... except they all say the same thing. Rear fits, front doesn't.

I've concluded that the front RC wheel will need the 929 bearings pressed in, and the 929 rotors bolted on. But then there is a spacer issue. Is it the bearing spacer/collar in the wheel, or the outer spacers? I read one post that mentioned needing (2) 2mm spacers, I assume they one for each outter side.

I'd really like someone who has actually done the swap chime in and clear this up, as I know a bunch of people are interested in the details. I don't have access to a machine shop, so I'd like to just order the spacers I need to make this work before hand.

Thanks guys, and if I get this to work I'll post a How-To and hopefully you'll never see a 51/929 wheel swap thread again :thumb:

Thanks man, would you mind posting a few pics? I had the 6-spoke's on my last bike and I really like the look over the 3-spokes, and I'd like to get an idea of how good they look on a 929.

I know the wheels will fit, I'm just trying to cut back on the down time by not having to find someone to fabricate spacers. If I knew the spacer dimensions that would make it a 30min swap for me. Do you remember if you simply had to change the outer spacers (keeping the 929 bearings and inner collar)?

I just found a pic you posted of your bike. I notice you have a complete RC51 front end... I'm using 929 forks which use a different axle and spacers. But post some more pics if you don't mind, I like what you've done with the bike, looks good

Anyone have RC wheels on 929 forks?

Well I have 929 forks now, they work great, and a front end swap isn't really in the budget right now. I can get a set of RC wheels for about what I can sell my 929 wheels for, so the wheel swap is not really going to cost much at all.

Hmmm RC51 wheels on a 929 could be real nice! If you end up going through with it please post some pics.

Thanks
Yea, it will certainly complete the look of my bike, the black 3-spokes just don't do it for me. Championship white, alum frame and swingarm, polished RC wheels....

It will probably be at least a month before I do the swap, I've got to find a set of wheels, figure out the spacing etc., polish the wheels
