Connor LaFrance, 14 of Saratoga Springs, NY, died Friday at Barber. He was getting in some track time in preparation for a Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup tryout scheduled for this week. Prior to turning to road racing a Honda RS125, LaFrance was the 2007 AMA Winter Nationals Dirt Track Champion.

R.I.P. and keep his family in our prayers. And the sad thing about this is he was running the number 33 in rememberence of a teammate that was killed in May.

A sad reminder that life is unpredictable.
Without trying to sound cold - its not that unpredictable.
Racing is dangerous, especially bike racing and your risk of dying doing it is probably way higher than most things that teenagers would do.

Yes he could be killed crossing the road, in a house fire or drowning - but riding a bike and racing are risks that people take because they enjoy the sport.
