Whats wrong with it Bucko?:idunno: Thats a Ventura rack and I would say 90% of bikes in OZ have them and I've had them on all my Blades, plus the old TRX. The rack can be taken off by undoing 2 bolts and a grab rail put in its place or leave just the rails underneath.

I agree they are ugly, but when I was on hols in Oz I noticed that the majority of sports bikes had them fitted. I guess the weather over there makes a bike a realistic everyday vehicle for which you need practicalities. Over here, sports bikes are, in the most part, Sunday toys.

:rotfl:

I have an image of you with feet dug in arms folded and lower lip protruding :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

You win on the personal opinion, does that help? :idunno: :D :D :D
I realise it's only a personal opinion and with all the damn luggage i've strapped onto my bike over the years i'd probably find it very useful but i'm still at odds with the aesthetics :thumb:

Hmmm. Do you believe a more aesthetically pleasing but still practical design is possible? What do you think it should look like?

Would you buy one if it looked good?

To be honest i don't think it's possible these bikes are essentially race replicas and as such are designed with luggage not in mind at all. That's why we have tourers and i wouldn't fancy one of them (maybe a vfr) so we come back to the compromise which is why i went for the Renntec, not as practical but not as obtrusive either

:plus1: Sports bikes are just not designed for luggage.. it'll always be a compromise of looks vs practicality. I also have a Renntec rack, not as ugly as a Ventura but not as useful either.

Some bikes can look good with luggage... I'm thinking KTM Adventure or BMW GS, depending on whether you think these bikes look good in the first place of course!
