Re: Worldwide Meet?

Just curious if there was a worldwide meet or anything like that...I know there are semi local meets.
It would be really awsome :thumb: but the oraganisation involved would be huge and then there are the costs for all those who have to travel to whatever country it was organised in...

I was thinking that Solice might have been thinking as I have, and that is how about a coordinated World Wide Meet on a SPECIFIC DAY...Like a Live Aid sorta thing?????

You would need someone to 'pipe' up from each continent to do the arrangements for example....Loopy as you did this year for UK meet and so on......

I think what Solice is trying to say is....It would be a nice idea to choose a day and in all the different places around the globe, people have a Fireblades.Org meet (as the UK one we did this year)...BUT all on the same day...Like a Live Aid sorta thing.

A chance for all the Aussies, Canadians, Americans (different parts) etc to meet up.

It was just a thought. And each Country, Continent or Region can do its own thing...eg; America may want to do a track meet , Aus lads might fancy a ride out (aussie style which could mean 1000kms:D) Anyhow Solice has started this thread to see how many people would be interested in doing such a thing.
It's good way to meet n greet n put faces to some of these awful Posts we all do:smilebig:

So who's up for doing something different one weekend instead of typing on here.........

You're going to need a lot more info in here to make this one happen. Prolly gonna require several different threads with different polls so you can gather all of your info.

Info I can think that you'll need off the top of my head ....

1) Where is everyone from?? Once you have that you can select the most central location to meet.

2) Bikes or no bikes? This will instantly cut down on the number of people willing to show up since shipping a bike over seas for a vaction is neither cheap nor practical.

3) Whats the average time frame people are willing to take off from work/family obligations. If it comes out to something like 2 days it prolly isn't gonna be worth it.

4) List of contacts once a location is set in stone to plan some kind of event. Things like places to go, things to do, people to see ect ect ect.

It's doable but you're looking at a TON of leg work and I know what I have listed isn't gonna be everything you need to know tyo make it all work.

My personal suggestion would that since it appears our members are pretty much split into 3 main locations

A) USA
B) UK
c) Austrailia

Setting a meet where you can get at least 2 of these groups to link up is prolly the better bet. Something like all the UK peeps come to the USA or all the USA peeps goto Austrailia and crash bladeracer's house or all the USA peeps lay claim to floor space with Loopy and SSB for a week kinda thing!

Good luck but I'd be interested either way.

lol sorry i didnt thoroughly list the proper information but jazzy got it for me
If you're gonna do it like that I kinda already started that for you but I can tell you now the US members will have to have 2 meet locations. Here is my thread.

http://www.fireblades.org/forums/eastern-usa/79846-official-fireblades-org-us-meet.html

another one was started as well with CO being the other meet location. Here is that thread.

http://www.fireblades.org/forums/central-usa/80346-central-western-get-together.html

Of course this all started because I saw Loopy's meet thread for the UK. Here it is.

http://www.fireblades.org/forums/europe/79841-2010-fireblades-org-uk-meet.html

Now we just need to see an Aussie meet thread and maybe even an Asia meet thread.

Go for gold man!!!
