So my buddy and I were at track day this past Saturday up at Summit Point Jefferson Circuit. He pulls into the pits with his bike loaded into his pickup truck and I notice 2 things:

  • He uses a broken cinder block (broken in half) as a wheel chock in the back of his pickup when hauling his motorcycle
  • His motorcycle ramp is a 2x4 that he jimmy'ed together with some other scrap wood to make it stay in place when loading/unloading his bike from the back of his pickup truck.
Just thought I'd share.

But who is faster...
Hands down, he's faster. He rides in the intermediate group and I ride in the beginner group. I however may have some hope. He told me that I am the only Vietnamese redneck that he has ever known.

:rotfl:

Maybe I should start using a broken cinder block as a wheel chock!!!! I need all the help I can get to go faster!!!!

Not in Ontario.
I meant in VA. I may be there this summer if the Knee Vet gets me in for surgery soon.

By the way, a Vietnamese guy told me you can judge a resturant by this soup. If they can make that good, chances are everything else will be good.

A high complement indeed. :)

And yet you are not on the Grattan list
Thought and talked to the wifer about the Grattan trip, but can't do it this year. Lack of time and mulah at this point in time. I'm definitely setting aside the time and mulah for Grattan 2006 since I now have a dedicated track bike.

Okay, gotta run to practice my redneck speak, "Hey boy, you ain't from around here are ya!!!"

I'm in the N. Va, which is about 30 mins. outside from Washington, DC. Here are the places I usually go for good Pho of any type (e.g. Pho Dac Biet):

  1. Pho 75, Arlington, VA on Rt. 50
  2. Pho Cong Ly, Springfield, VA on Backlick Rd
  3. Pho 495, Springfield, VA in Springfield Plaza
  4. Pho Xe Lua, Falls Church, VA on Rt. 7 and Rt. 50
Pho is a very tricky dish to prepare. What makes the dish is the broth. It takes my mother approximately 2 days to cook the broth to perfection. I can definitely find validity in your friends statement. However I find that the best places for Pho are Pho specialty restaraunts and my mom's house. Of course my mom ain't gonna cook Pho for any you sumofabeotches!!!!

Pho is a Vietnamese rice noodle soup. It consists of beef broth, rice noodles, an assortment/combination of usually cow parts/meat and various asian oriented vegetables. Pho Dac Biet specifically is the above with all the meats in it (e.g. brisket, intestine, beef balls, raw/soup cooked beef, etc...).

I love Vietnamese food. I took my girlfriend and 2 of her friends out for dinner at Bagolac Saigon (best vietnamese in Calgary) on saturday night. We had appetizers, 2 of us had drinks, and none of us finished our plates... cost me $44.00 plus tip.

Need to clarify, it's not intestine, it's intestine lining. In addition beef balls is not what you think, as in bull testicles. It's beef molded into a sphere shape.

Pho is all right, but man, everytime there's a meat problem with meat or disease here in the bay, it always seems to be a Vietnamese resturant. I quit going as the last thing I need is mad cow.
