Can anyone help me? My 98 rrw fireblade wont start. The batt is
no good. I nead to get a new one. But when i put a set of jump leads on the bike, turn on the ignition on, turn off the alarm/immobiliser using the button in the key & turn on the kill swich on, then when i press the start button nothing happens. Not a thing, no sound, no anything. I have the clocks off the bike for repair. Would this be the problen ? Will the clocks being unpluged stop the bike from starting? I have tested the starter relay, the earth wire, all ok. PLEASE HELP:huh:
Also my radiator is correded realy bad, does any other honda bike rad fit the 98 blade rrw? Or is there anywhere in the uk that can make me a new rad/repair my old shagged rad?

Do you have any lights?
Have you check the Main fuse?
I don't know about the 900RR but the 929/954 doesn't need instruments to run.

Iight bro most likely u need a new ignition inside ur ignition is a one way diode that converts the 12v to 9 something thats gets the bike to start but dont switch it out yet. Check inside ur kill switch n see if something in thete is fuc#ed upsometimes its the run switch or starter botton itself remember to make sure ur kick stand is up cuz if the 3way diode in the fuse box is shot ur computer wont no its in neutral. My best bet is change out the right side controls for a new one with a ignition cuz if u gotta jump wires to turn power on then u def killed the diode in the ignition. Question do u hear a click when u press the start botton? Is there power running best way to check is ur brake light or if ur horn works? I have the same bike n fixed everything on it no thanks to the stealership so stick it out its worth it bro let me no how that turns out i got a dude that sell parts for the bike in ohio got almost anything too n hes cheap

Almost forgot unplug ur rectifier n check the main fuse that that is on the right side by the seat with the red plug if that is blown replace it but keep ur rectifer off if u get power plug in the rectifier n if u get no power then u got a bad rectifier or something is touching ur frame causing a short n blowing the main fuse lol again let me no

Nice one mate. I will try what u said and i will let you know how i get on. also used to hear a noise when i pushed the start button but the bike wont start. Know when i press the start button no noise at all. I thought it might be a flat battery, thats why i tried to jump it off my car. Iam getting a new battery next week and i will let u know how i get on

Not a good idea to jump but if u got a multimeter just charge it n check it should be over 12.2v if u turn on the key n it drops below 11.5 then ur batt. Is no good so before u drop 60 $ on something u might not need check with a multi meter they cost 20$ n they are a must in figuring out 80% of problems esp. This kind of problem

Hello everyone & thanks for all the good advice. I got my blade running lastnight. Got my new battery, put it in & still not a thing from the bike. Turned the key on & nothing, no dash light, no horn, nothing. I was very close to lighting a match & burning the bike, lol. But i kepted going. I decided to check the ignition wiring. I disconnected the ignition, via the plug beside the fuse box. Job done. The ignition plug into the wiring loom was dirty/correded. after a quick clean she fired up no prob. All running well now thank god. Its full steam ahead now for the Isle Of Man TT, yeeee haaaa.
